About This Spot

Stepping into Nick's Burgers is like slipping into a quieter moment tucked away on a busy stretch of Valley Boulevard. The pace here is unhurried, a gentle contrast to the typical rush of fast food joints. It’s a spot where time feels a little softer, inviting you to sink into the familiarity of worn booths and the comforting hum of friendly chatter. The atmosphere carries that warm nostalgia of a place that has quietly watched the neighborhood evolve, yet remains delightfully consistent.

The air is mingled with the rich, smoky scent of grilled patties and the salty promise of crispy fries, effortlessly drawing you closer to the counter. Here, the menu is a simple but sincere celebration of classic American fare—where breakfast eggs meet hearty burgers, and generous chili cheese fries make their unmistakable mark. Whether you're settling in for a mid-morning breakfast burrito or winding down with a Nick’s Special Burger combo, there’s an unspoken understanding that this isn’t about pretension. It’s about honest food served with a steady hand and familiar smile.

This is the kind of local spot that feels like a quiet handshake from the past, where familiar faces often gather and newcomers are quietly welcomed into a long-standing tradition. The service carries a genuine warmth, reflective of the place’s role as more than just a restaurant, but a community fixture—steady, dependable, and unchanging in the best way.

Nick’s Burgers is a modest slice of El Monte’s everyday rhythm, a place where the flavors are simple, the portions generous, and every visit feels like revisiting a well-loved story. It’s not about flash or trendy buzz, but about the comfort found in consistency, and the small joys of a well-crafted burger and fries that have plenty of company from those who’ve cherished this spot for decades.

Went here with a coworker for a local burger. Would definitely recommend this place to someone looking for a great burger and super friendly service.

Nick's Burgers has been around for as long as I can remember. Their burgers are always good and their French fries always hot . Their service is not bad at least I never had a problem with them.

I've been coming here since the early 90s. So 30+yrs now, everything is the same. Burgers taste the same like they did the first time in what 92, 93 which is crazy. I moved out of El Monte in 95 and now reside in the IE. I still stop by when I'm in the area because you never know with restaurants closing down left and right. This place is dear to my heart a piece of my childhood that hasn't changed and I would regret not stopping by and finding out it closed down. To whomever the owners are thank you for providing such great food and service and not changing a thing not even the pictures in the menu. You got a customer for life.

Traditional burger spot. Typically order a cheese burger combo. A large order of fries is enough for 3-4 people to share. Limited fountain drinks available. The food taste great. And everything is pretty fresh.

I love this place. They have a tastey burger but I mainly come for the onion rings. If I want rings I come here. You can expect a large serving similar to what you would get at Tops or The Hat. Along with sodas you can get Horchata or Orange Bang. However, these are kept in the food prep area and cost extra to refill. This place is easy to get to and has plenty of parking. You can catch the El Monte red trolley right on the corner opposite to Nicks. The Metro 76 and 276 bus also stop here. My one criticism is that the restroom needs a major remodel. If you need to use it please ask for the key at the counter.

Great burgers. Don't order large onion rings if you're by yourself. It's a big bag of onion rings. Like... If you order only a large onion rings, you can't eat them all. It's fantastic! They're just ok onion rings though. The burger was really really good. I had a double cheeseburger. Service was wonderful.
